Two-Phase Treatment
Two-phase treatment is effective because it starts treatment in childhood to intercept a developing problem, allowing for normal growth of the face and mouth. Your child may benefit from early orthodontic intervention if he or she has lost teeth early or late, has difficulty chewing or biting, sucks his or her thumb, breathes through the mouth, grinds or clenches, or has crowded teeth, speech problems, facial imbalance, or an overbite or underbite.
Phase I
Phase I treatment is most effective for children between ages seven and ten, because most orthodontic problems are easier to correct if found early. Phase I treatment may prevent more serious treatment that could be needed at a later age.
Phase II
Phase II treatment moves permanent teeth into their final position.

Different Types of Orthodontic Treatments
With braces and other treatments available at our Fort Worth, Arlington, and Burleson offices, our orthodontists can correct a variety of orthodontic problems. The treatment options we offer include:
Expanders
Expanders can be used to widen the upper and / or lower arches of the jaw, to correct a crossbite or crowding, and makes room for the permanent teeth to erupt into the mouth.
Braces
We use braces to reposition misaligned teeth. At our Fort Worth, Arlington and Burleson locations, we use low profile brackets that are popular among teenagers and adults because they are small, comfortable and durable. Ceramic braces are also popular because the brackets are made of tooth colored ceramic material. Since we use the best brackets and wires available, we can minimize the number of visits you make to our office.
- Brackets – Small metal or ceramic brackets are strategically place on each tooth, to hold the archwire in place.
- Archwire – The archwire connects to the brackets and applies the force to guide the teeth into proper position.
- Bands – A band is a metal ring which fits around a tooth, usually the back teeth, like a ring. It has a built in bracket into which the archwire fits. Not always needed, bands can be used for additional strength and anchorage in tooth movement.
- Rubber Bands – Rubber bands, also known as elastics, are used in correcting bite problems by applying additional force to help balance the underlying jaw structure and to help upper and lower teeth fit properly together.
- Retainers – Wearing your retainers is a simple but important part of maintaining your new smile when active treatment is complete.
Invisalign®
Invisalign® is a unique treatment that gradually repositions teeth with a series of undetectable trays. The Invisalign® system’s custom trays are inconspicuous, comfortable, and removable, making them a convenient option for straightening your teeth.
